Karina Reyes was born and raised in Southwest Detroit. She is a senior in College currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Social Work at Eastern Michigan University. She is hopeful to be graduating in April 2022. She began her journey at UNI in January 2021, interning with the Mental Health Specialist, Tracy. In August 2021, she was hired as a Success Coach for the Leaders in Training Program. Being a future first-generation college graduate, she’s been able to overcome many obstacles. Working with youth and in the same community that she grew up in, has been such an impactful experience. Every day she’s inspired and helps youth reach their goals. No matter how big or small. In her free time, she spends most of my time with her 5-year-old son. She also enjoys spending quality time with family/friends. Karina has been on a fitness journey for a year now! She enjoys being active and being out in nature. Karina loves trying new things and going on different adventures.
